Baby for my sister!

My sister was due in the middle of September
when Dorian was 4 months old. It's so nice that
Milo and Dorian will be able to grow up together. Well mostly anyway depending on where we all are. But still, it would be nice for them to be more like brothers than cousins. Maria and I are 6.5 years apart, so it's pretty cool that our babies are only 4 months apart in age.

This picture is obviously when Milo is already a few months old. My grandmother came to visit, Omi, and we went to take family pictures. This was in November Dorian was 6 months and Milo 2 months. Dorian is wearing a hat that I used to wear as a baby! He has quite the hat collection already, I wonder where he gets that from (Dad).

Happy baby

Like I said before, he really was a happy baby. He was 2 months old here and he smiled a lot. Sometimes because he tooted, or burped or did some other equally fascinating body function, but I like to think that sometimes it was because he was grinning at us. He sure smiled at everyone else!

And of course, we went to the rib festival! That is a must in the Forsberg family, and so Dorian was inducted into that great tradition correctly. He hung out in the carrier while we walked around and ate yummy food.

Baby Bandit

This was taken around 9 weeks old. We were getting bundled up to go take pictures of my sister Maria's big belly. She was looking like she was ready to pop, though she didn't until a whole month later. This is another time that Dorian was all swaddled up. He just woke up from a nap. His hair was finally starting to fill in up top too! He went through a couple hair "phases". First he had nice hair in the back and sides and very sparse up top, male pattern "baldness" looking! Then he rubbed the back off by tossing his head back and forth on the bed, but the front started to come in nicely. Now he has hair that is getting longer everywhere, and looks much more uniform.

TV huh?

Dorian LOVES being swaddled. It's funny, all of the books say that after 4 months they don't really like it anymore, but we still did it until just last month when he was 7 months old!
He is about 6 weeks old in this picture. Don't mind the evil glowing eyes of Meesha in the background! Overall the cats actually did okay with him, or he with them. He didn't actually "notice" them until he was about 6 months old. Then he wanted to grab them and pull really hard. We had to introduce "gentle" at that point. ;)

two "artistic" shots

I love both of these pictures. The daddy and me feet was taken when he was about 3 weeks old. It's really funny, he has Karl's feet and my hands. Well, that's not true, the shape of his hands is like mine, but he has the freaky thumb that can bend back like Karl. :)

This other picture is one that Karl took with is phone. I think it looks so neat half in the dark like that. I don't really know why, but it has become wone of my all time favorites.

Funny faces

In the beginning it was so funny because we could watch Dorian for HOURS. He would make so many faces! Here are a few of our favorites:

He smiled a lot and he stuck his tongue out a lot! Overall he was a very happy baby. He loves people and grinning at everyone. He was a ham and a ladies man very early on.

2 and 3 weeks old

Three weeks old and already we had taken close to a couple hundred pictures. So funny. Well, when they hold still like this, getting the pictures is much easier. Later when they are wiggling around, it becomes much harder. He loves taking showers and baths. He splashes around with his hands and also with his feet. In the shower he puts his hands under the spray and tries to catch it. He's ok with water over his head and also in his face. He did swallow some after trying to headbutt the water, that didnt' go over as well, but after he finished coughing (and fake coughing) he was okay again.

The picture on the right is his first smile that we caught. He was just shy of 3 weeks. I was so excited thinking "yay, now he's going to smile at me!" I think it was really just happiness over a toot, but hey, a mother can dream.
I know that every parent says this about their child, but OMG he is so cute! This was him at 2 weeks old. He used to actually sleep quite a bit during the day (what happened?). This was the picture that we used for his announcement.
